Gain Fame by Discovery

Here's how you can guarantee that you will become world famous from your discoveries: 

1, Come up with a novel idea, one that is subject to plenty of myths and superstition, but very little research.

2, Draw up and display plenty of visually appealing plans to show what your idea can do, and make sure it promises big money.

3. Persist up to 14 years if necessary. 

4. Get funding and sponsorship preferably from someone who is rich and egoistic about power, control, and recognition.

5. Expect your sponsor to double cross you along the way, and prepare for it. 

6. Marry upper-class wealth you can use so you don't have to work too hard.   

7. Use religion or something akin to it to justify your ruthlessness. 

8. Use your close relatives for PR, technical help, and conducting negotiations for you.

9. Give yourself very important titles and brag loudly and gregariously about what you are doing to anyone who will listen. 

10. Assume that you can claim wherever you end up as yours in all respects (it helps to justify this claim by saying it is on your sponsor's behalf and justifiable because it is religious). 

All of this worked for Christopher Columbus, so why wouldn’t it work for you too?
